Privacy Policy, Curran Stikuts for Toronto City Council, Ward 13 Toronto Centre

Last updated: October 10, 2026

The Curran Stikuts Campaign respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

What we collect

  • From you: your name, address, email, phone number and anything you tell us when you sign up to volunteer, pledge your vote, request a lawn sign, contact us, or talk to a canvasser or caller.
  • From the voters’ list: the City of Toronto gives candidates the voters’ list (names and addresses) for election purposes.
  • From donations: your name, address, amount and date. Card details are handled by Square; we never see or store your card number.
  • From calls and texts: your replies, and whether you want to hear from us again. Calls with campaign volunteers may be recorded and transcribed so we can keep accurate records and improve our volunteer training.

How we use it

Only to run Curran’s campaign: to talk with voters, organize volunteers and events, deliver lawn signs, help people vote, accept donations and meet our legal reporting duties. We use the voters’ list only for election purposes, as the Municipal Elections Act requires.

Texting

If you give us your mobile number and tick the box agreeing to texts, we may text you about the campaign, volunteering, events and voting. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop texts, or HELP for help. We never sell, rent or share your phone number or texting consent with anyone for their own marketing. See our Texting terms.

Who we share it with

  • Service providers who help us run the campaign and must keep your information private: our phone and texting providers. They do not keep this information or have any right to it beyond what is needed for us to send texts and phone calls.
  • Election authorities: Ontario law requires candidates to report donations. The names and addresses of people who give more than $100 appear in the campaign’s public financial statement filed with the City Clerk.
  • When the law requires it.

We never sell your information.

How we keep it safe

Our contact database runs on servers we control in [Server location]. Only campaign staff and trained volunteers can see it, each with their own login, and access is logged.

How long we keep it

We delete campaign contact records by [Delete date]. We keep donation records as long as election finance law requires.

Your choices

  • Reply STOP to any text to stop texts.
  • Ask us not to call, text, email or visit you again, and we will mark your record so we don’t.
  • Ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.
